ISCA′s business has worldwide recognition. Various entities, university research centers, and government agencies have financially invested in our research to develop innovative products for extensive agriculture and fruit and vegetable growing.
ISCA has received investments of over US$ 40 million in 20 years of operation in the world market so that our products reach the five continents. Entities such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the United States government, through the USDA, invest in our research to develop solutions to combat insects that are harmful to both crops and humans.
Our development method is effective. We detect a need for a solution to combat insects, either on our own initiative or at the suggestion of a partner. We start the research and development process and, in a short time, we have a product to solve the problem presented.
1 A NEW PLAGUE EMERGES A new species of insect is recognized as causing damage to a particular crop
2 IDENTIFICATION OF THE PHEROMONE The insect is analyzed and the biology laboratory team identifies the species and its pheromone
3 IDENTIFICATION OF THE MOLECULE In the chemical analysis laboratory the scientists identify the molecule
4 CONSTRUCTION OF THE MOLECULE In the synthesis lab scientists build the new synthetic molecule, a replica of the identified molecule
5 FORMULATION In the laboratory different versions of the formulation are made
6 TESTING In the entomology laboratory the different versions of the formulation are tested
7 FIELD TESTING In the field the formulations that had the best results in the laboratory are tested and the best one is chosen
8 PRODUCTION AND SALE After being produced and packaged, the products are distributed and marketed, reaching the final customer
Proof of this is that ISCA creates 20 new product prototypes per year, with two global new product commercial launches per year. As proof of our processing agility, we have more than 50 products registered in 15 countries.
The company has two manufacturing plants, one in Riverside, California (USA), and the other in Ijuí, Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil). This brings the production capacity to 1,500 tons of formulated product per year. Local teams of researchers and semiochemical specialists work in the field with a focus on product use and performance evaluation.
